About Us
Little Bear's Woodshop
What we do...
We strive to create play equipment that will foster a child’s self-led, open-ended learning and will empower them to grow in all areas of development; physical, social, emotional, cognitive, and language. As a father and daughter team, our items are handcrafted and designed by Canadians with Canadian families in mind
Our Story...
Our name is dedicated to Nicole’s son and Rick’s grandson who is affectionately called “Bear” by those who love him.
Nicole is a Registered Early Childhood Educator, former College Instructor, and mom of 2 who brings her knowledge of early childhood education and child development into every piece we design and create. She loves to spend lots of time outside walking and having picnics at the beach. She is also a musician and loves to play music with her husband (although finding the time is getting harder!)
Rick is a skilled carpenter who brings years of experience and the love of high-quality craftsmanship into every piece he builds. In his free time, you will often find Rick paddle boarding along Georgian Bay, by the BBQ, or watching hockey.
At Little Bear's Woodshop we create products that will empower children to
Engage
In endless learning opportunities through open-ended play
Explore
And connect with nature and the world around through their sense of curiosity and wonder
Cultivate Creativity
As they build, scoop, pour, measure, question, count, mix, transfer, problem-solve, take turns, role play and much more!
